Our wetsuits are currently made from Japanese Yamamoto limestone neoprene, derived from limestone instead of petrochemicals like traditional neoprene. Whilst the extraction of the limestone is said to be less environmentally damaging then petrochemicals for traditional neoprene, Limestone is still a finite resource and mining for it comes with its own disadvantages.
Yulex is our preferred wetsuit material of choice, it is an infinite resource that is managed under FSC certified standards.
We have tirelessly tried to make our suits with Yulex, however currently, there is only one factory in the world who has the rights to work with it. We were expecting that our production could begin in 2023 however have recently found out that the demand is too large and we can no longer be accommodated. We are continuing to try and find an alternate factory.
