Crescent Moon & North Star (Starbust) Opal earrings in solid 9ct gold

Twinkle Twinkle Opal Moon and Star  how I wonder how I lived without you both for so long 

A pair of handmade Crescent Moon and North Star (Starburst) opal earring charms.  The Crescent Moon has wonderful colour with green orange yellow red flashes on the top of the inner crescent on a gray opal stone.  The North Star (starburst) opal charm originates also from Lightning Ridge and is an opalised plant fossils  This charming crystal opal (transparent) is bright florence blue/green/yellow - living up to its North Star name. 

These solid Australian opal charms have been set by hand on recycled  solid 9ct yellow gold  and are hung on a pair of 14mm Italian made solid 9ct yellow gold hoops. Kê Lì and her family travel to Lightning Ridge, Outback NSW, Australia to sustainably source natural rough opals directly from the fields.  She then takes all the rough opal home to Byron Bay and cuts through each hand picked stone layer by layer to hand carve and polish the opals into the finished shapes that you see.  Lightning Ridge is renown for having the highest quality of opals in the world. 
Such an epic set, the stars really did align for these ones (pun intended).

1. Crescent Moon opal charm: Length: 0.85cm; Width: 0.53cm; Depth: 0.33cm

2. North Star Starburst opal charm: Length: 0.97cm; Width: 0.84cm; Depth: 0.3cm

All measurements are taken from their longest points.
